We know that cleaning the bathroom is a tedious job, but the last thing you want to do is overlook an important step in the process.
It’s hard to keep a bathroom truly spotless, but that doesn’t mean your glass shower doors shouldn’t be sparkling. Here are a few pointers to prevent soap and mineral build-up.
First and most important is using a quality squeegee! It takes little time and should be done after every shower. This will be your first line of defense against soap residue and hard water.
It should only take a few seconds to wipe down your glass. For an extra touch, give the tile a once over as well to prevent build-up on it as well.
We offer a rubber squeegee and a can of high-grade glass cleaner with every shower door installation. A light cleaning with glass cleaner is recommended weekly.
For shower doors that truly sparkle, consider ShowerGuard glass. ShowerGuard invisibly seals the glass creating a mineral resistant surface against dirt and grime. We especially recommend ShowerGuard glass protection for homeowners with hard water.
If you have ShowerGuard glass, your shower can easily be cleaned with a squeegee and maintained with a high-grade glass cleaner.
For showers without ShowerGuard glass protection, CRL Surface Protector can be applied to create a protective coating on glass.

You made a good point when you said to use a quality squeegee as one effective way of cleaning glass shower doors. Using one would definitely rid your glass shower doors of any soap residue and hard water. If I were to clean my own glass shower doors, I would make sure to take this into consideration. Thanks.

I never knew that it was necessary to wipe down the glass after every shower! Personally, I only do it every weekend during my day off. My husband got us a frameless glass shower and it would hurt me to see if it doesn’t last long because he spent a decent amount to get it. It pretty sounds tedious to do, but I’d be sure to follow your suggestions and wipe the glass after every bath. This way, I can make ensure the longevity of my husband’s investment. Thanks for the good read!

I appreciate your comments on how deep cleaning can prevent any long-term damage to your glass shower doors. My family just moved into a new area and we have glass doors in the bathrooms. I think that I should deep clean them before we really get settled in and start using them.
