We have been fortunate to be a part of the local community for many years. It is our pleasure to give back to truly exceptional charities that support those in need. Yes, we are a shower door company, but we are also animal lovers and humanitarians. Family is important to us, and so is God and the community.
At Master Shower Doors, we work hard like you do to provide for our families as well as others. Giving back is part of our character and it is also a responsibility we take seriously.
Throughout the year we support the Special Olympics, The Wounded Warrior Project, St.Jude’s Research Hospital, the Blood Bank of Delaware, the Delaware SPCA, Joyce Meyer Ministries, Habitat for Humanity, Delaware Humane Association, the Delaware Association of Police and Unique Butterflies.
All the charities we support have amazing missions that make a big difference in the lives of others. This time of year, when hunger and homelessness seem to increase, we decided to highlight two local charities that help ease the burden of those facing those hardships in particular. One is the Food Bank of DE and the other is the Sunday Breakfast Mission.
The Food Bank of Delaware has a hands-on mission “to provide nutritious foods to Delawareans in need and facilitate long-term solutions to the problems of hunger andpoverty through community education and advocacy.”
The Food Bank carries out many programs that include: help with Children’s Nutrition, WIC Outreach, and Senior Nutrition. They also have a Mobile Pantry and now teach culinary classes to prepare students of all ages for jobs in the food service industry.
When we give to the food bank we know we are making a tangible difference in the lives of our friends and neighbors in the First State.
The other charity we like to highlight this time of year is The Sunday Breakfast Mission.
Their goal is to “serve the homeless, addicted and impoverished through Christ-centered programs to meet their spiritual, social and physical needs. The primary goal is to restore people to a right relationship with God, their families and society.”
On Thanksgiving Day they served over 1,200 meals!
The Sunday Breakfast Mission offers many programs including the Smyrna Prison Ministry, a Thrift Store, a Medical Clinic, and discipleship classes for men, women, and families.
